I was looking for a unique birthday gift for a friend. I mentioned in conversation that I had been itching to try a new medium I had read about, ceramic/porcelain paint that could be cured in an oven at home. She spoke up & said she thought it sounded interesting. That’s where the creative process started & I think I ended up with a piece as refined as she is. Now, time to enjoy a spot of tea!

Easily one of the coolest items I’ve ever painted. My friend bought a used surfboard and asked me if I’d consider painting the whole thing with a new theme. It was such an awesome project, I couldn’t resist. My favorite part of this version of it is the base color we chose, that metallic blue paint is so beautiful.
Due to some safety concerns about the board’s original artwork in the water, we decided later to paint it again. This time we chose something that would blend into the environment better. My friend requested that I keep a few elements from the original design for this version.
Both versions are included below.
