This shoot was certainly a fun one, with a lot of important life events to focus on. Cynthia and Guillermo wanted to meet up and take some maternity photos before becoming a family of five and celebrate their journey together as a couple. We hiked a bit through a park in Oakland, enjoying chatting and settling in for some photos in lovely little spots.

While this family was back in town visiting, we set up a session for some family photos. The location request was for “something rustic” and when I brought up the horse arena in Joaquin Miller Park, it turned into the perfect location, because this little girl is currently SO EXCITED by horses.

To say I’m big fans of this family doesn’t quite describe it. They have become like family to us in the time my husband and I have known them. Finding out our due dates for our baby girls were only a few weeks apart brought us even closer. I was so excited to meet their baby when she was born and we did her newborn photos as soon as we could.

This mom and dad are super cool already, so when they had a baby, I knew it would be a good time taking photos with them. I’ve was so excited to hear that they were pregnant and to hear updates from momma throughout the months leading up to Griffin’s birthday. All three of you are the best!

I always enjoy meeting up for a photo session at a location my clients choose because it’s one of their favorite places. When the idea of photos in Joaquin Miller Park came up, I was already looking forward to it. Within the immediate Bay Area, this park and the neighboring parks are one of my favorite spots to take a rest in nature. There were also some spots, like the stone bridge, further inside the park that were great spots to stop for a few pictures. Here are a few of my favorites!
