Such a wonderful engagement photoshoot! We met in downtown Walnut Creek, at one of the couples’ favorite restaurants and wandered around the area, finding the best little spots for photos. Christine and Chris were so comfortable in front of the camera, which allowed their connection to one another really shine through. Being able to capture that in photos makes me so happy, because I think those are the best images. Congratulations on this step in your journey and your upcoming wedding!

This shoot was certainly a fun one, with a lot of important life events to focus on. Cynthia and Guillermo wanted to meet up and take some maternity photos before becoming a family of five and celebrate their journey together as a couple. We hiked a bit through a park in Oakland, enjoying chatting and settling in for some photos in lovely little spots.

We are so close to Katie & Jake’s wedding date, I can’t believe it’s almost here already. I had the pleasure of doing an engagement session for them in Downtown Livermore, California. They chose locations that are very important to their relationship – the spot they decided to start dating, the place they went on their first date and the spot Jake asked Katie to marry him. Such fun and I love how varied their locations and all the photos are!
Can’t wait to team up with a good friend to photograph the wedding day!

What a great couple to spend a summer morning with! With the wedding only a few weeks away, I wanted to share engagement photos since we had lovely weather and a beautiful location. These two shared so much laughter together during our session, which made for a fun time. Looking forward to capturing their wedding day!

I’m definitely way, way behind on posting these (they were taken over a year ago). Normally, I’d just let them go, but I enjoy everything about this set of images – the couple, the locations, the photographer I was tagging along with – so they still get posted. Thanks for such a lovely day and seeing these photos made me excited for them all over again.
Renee of Renascent Photography was kind enough to invite me along, see her photos from the session here.

I had been thinking that these two would be a pleasure to have in front of the camera. Then Justin took Adele on a hike, played her a song he wrote and asked her to marry him. Perfect opportunity to do a photo session! And, I was right, these two were naturals in front of the camera and we shared a lot of laughs which you’ll see in the photos. Congratulations to you both, I’m excited for your wedding day!

First off, these two – Natalie and Matt – have such a great connection to one another. Just looking through the photos from their photoshoot, you can tell how strongly attached they are to one another. Their engagement photos make me even more excited to photograph their wedding day this summer.
Second, these locations. We spent our time in Alameda, at the shoreline and on the Naval Base. Both were really great choices with lots of options and the three of us got to explore a new space!

Choosing the perfect words for these two is difficult. I remember when they started dating, meeting Tiffany for the first time, and being excited that Curtis found a girl just as cool as him. It’s been a pleasure to watch them grow together, bring out the best in each other and hear the engagement plan before it ever happened. You see, Curtis is already family (my brother-in-law) and Tiffany will soon be family (yay!). More importantly, they’ve also become my friends and a great part of my life.
I love capturing emotion with my camera, that’s why I shoot weddings and engaged couples, but it’s a whole different level of awesome when I get the chance to capture a relationship I’ve watched over the years.
Since I have done shoots with them before, we decided to go somewhere with a little more variety, the Botanical Gardens at Tilden Park, Berkeley. As always, it’s hard to choose just my absolute favorites to post.
Congratulations Tiffany & Curtis! Truly, so excited for you both!

This engagement session is completely awesome-rad-wonderful for so many reasons. First and foremost, I am so happy for these two and that I have the honor to stand beside them on their wedding day as part of their bridal party. Second, there are so many beautiful photos from this shoot, I had a hard time narrowing down what to share. Because, let’s face it, they’re a darn good looking couple with style. And lastly, the fact that this shoot included so much good stuff: a Livermore farm with rattlesnake sighting, the Oakland hills with a view of the bay, a classic car and some fun vintage styling.

This post is part engagement photos, part documentation of the day’s happenings and some good-old practice behind the lens. I am really happy with this set of photos. I had the opportunity to try some interesting shots, enjoy the locations we went to and had a blast with some great people. These photos make me excited to have a camera in my hand.
Emily and Marc are a great couple, the connection between them is evident and beautiful to see. They chose some spots on the UC Santa Cruz campus and a secluded beach for their photos, all of which offered a great variety of settings for their photos. Congratulations to both of you!
Huge thanks to Renee for bringing me along on her shoot, it was a great time, words cannot express. And thanks to Emily and Marc as well for having me.
