Event Invitation: YEAH! Berkeley Fundraiser

Following the Save the Date, the next piece to work on was the invitation for YEAH! Berkeley’s upcoming fundraiser. I wanted to keep the color scheme in order to tie the printed pieces together, but make a more visually interesting piece to hold all the pertinent information. The final invitation and RSVP card are definitely eye-catching and a fun part of the event.

I first heard about YEAH! Berkeley from a friend, then my husband started volunteering last Spring. The organization is committed to Bay Area homeless youth, providing a safe shelter, hot meals and basic necessities. While my husband cooked breakfast at the shelter, he’d talk with the kids and get to know their individual stories. He’d bring those stories home to me, which encouraged me to help. With an annual fundraiser coming up in the Fall, the organization asked for a graphic designer to help out, so I jumped at the chance. The main guidance I received was that they were drawn to really graphic typography, but they were hoping I could expand on their ideas. Keep an eye out for the rest of the pieces for this event!
