Custom Signage: Painted Directional Signs
Since I just finished a couple more of these signs earlier this week, I figured it is past due that I post about the whole project. (I also finally took the time to get some pictures of the finished sign banks.)
This is another interesting project that came my way, because I design and create in a bunch of different mediums. The property is large and directional signs were wanted in order to help people find the buildings they wanted to get to. I was supplied with some old, distressed wood (to fit the aesthetic of the property) and asked to match the font on these signs to other existing signage. I started by cutting out large vinyl stencils to get the uniform font, then finished with indoor/outdoor paint. The signs in the pictures have been posted for over six months now and are still looking great!
My workspace was in one of the old barns on the property and I enjoyed the environment. During breaks, I took some photos of my progress as I was working and the barn where I was working.

After completing one large wood burnt piece, there were plans to make two more pieces to use as decoration in other children’s classrooms. A cartoon horse and cow were chosen and I got to work. It was nice to have the chance to do more artwork with a wood burning technique. It took awhile for the pieces to be mounted with all the other pieces, but I finally was able to get some photos to share.
And, of course, a work-in-progress picture below, because this mini blowtorch is awesome and a time saver!

It seems I’m known for being pretty crafty, good with all manner of creative mediums. This brings some very unique projects my way and I’m usually very interested in taking them on because they pose new challenges and solutions.
This project was brought my way with the design already done and the request that I wood burn a large piece of artwork for new children’s classrooms. The finished piece is about 10 x 8 feet and was burned with a small butane torch and soldering iron. Definitely something out of the ordinary to add to my project portfolio!
A few in-progress shots taken throughout the course of the project:
And detail shots of the wood burnt texture, which looks so cool up close!
Etsy: Screen Printed Housewares
I’m always, always, always thinking of new items I can expand my screen printing onto, thinking about all the little touches that make a home more personal and homey. After a bunch of trial runs, I have added the first coasters and throw pillows to my shop. More color and design options are planned to follow later this year.
The set of coasters are screen printed with bright turquoise ink on cork and backed with wool felt, to keep your table surfaces happy. The throw pillow is screen printed with metallic gold ink on a linen blend fabric, then sewn up and stuffed with a pillow insert. Now available in the Etsy shop.

When I get asked to work on a project with creative elements I’ve been wanting to try, I get very excited. Then I get to work. I’ve worked with this lovely lady before and she wanted a custom hand drawn Christmas card to send out this year. I’ve been wanting to make something in this style for quite some time, so I was happy to get to work, starting with a Sharpie and my sketchbook. Mix my drawings with their photo and we had one great card!
Etsy: So Complimentary / New Zipper Pouches
Tell them what you really think! Treat a lovely lady in your life to one of these cute new little zipper pouches, now available in my Etsy shop. Each zipper pouch is screen printed by hand in one color of ink, then sewn up. Exterior fabric is a linen blend, while the interior is lined with a patterned cotton print. Makes a great gift!

On the design side, I helped design and create many of the papercraft pieces used in a promo video for our client. I went onsite for the video shoot officially to fix any of the paper props that broke during filming. Since I was going anyways, I decided to capture a behind-the-scenes look at a video shoot that this team had put so much time & effort into. We worked hard all day on set to get all the shots we needed in a short time, but we also had a lot of fun bringing this video to life.
